Past:

You couldn't hope for a better summer with the geographical position of Finland (north). And I'm certainly putting some of the blame of not working on SJ3 to the fact that it rained once or twice during the whole summer. It's not that I'm lazy or anything :) Sorry, if I've been slow to answer your mail or send out registrations.

Present:

Summer is now totally over and I'm even getting some programming work done. I made some good progress during a few sick days last week, and I'm hoping to get some more done this weekend. I'm feeling pretty optimistic about SJ3 for a change, the visual (what visual?) side has been altered quite a lot from SJ2, so I wasn't able to use any of the old graphics routines, so last week was just about putting them together. Things should be easier from now on.

Future:

As I've answered to a couple of SJ fans (thanks a whole lot for the mail, it's motivating to know that you guys really want the new version), my plan is to have some sort of beta version ready by the end of the month, and if all goes well, and the graphics department is speedy, I'm hoping on having the release around December. I apologize for some of the crazy promises I've made to some of you in the past (from December 1998: "the next version should be finished in a couple of months". Right. Ok, so I was a bit off... :) ). I hope I've learned my lesson not to make any more wild promises. Anyways, thanks a lot for your ever-lasting support, without you guys there would be no next version, and I'm trying real hard to meet all of your high expectations.

And since the new version is coming (and I'm kind of short on money), now would be a perfect time to ask for some huge discounts on the registered version of SJ2, just note that it looks like there will be no special discounts for the people who've regged SJ2 when purchasing the new generation version.
