Past:
Long time no hear. Summer's gone for sure, and school's back. Same old,
same old.
Registrations have been coming in in a slow but steady pace, and thoughts
(hey, what
about actions?) have been on the next version for
a long time, and some progress has already been made. A whole new form
of competition
called King of the Hill is one of the new features for v2.2, also bigger
hiscore lists,
and a new FIS-compatible points system have already been added.
And wow, the Universal Tough Guy List contains now over 400 happy jumpers!
That's really a lot, thank you for your results, and remember to include
your _whole full real name_ along with the SENDME.TXT. Muchos gracias.
Present:
The Great Summer Survey has been up for some time now, and the message is
quite clear:
more hills and use real places, damn it!
Ok. [Start defence speech:] I've been quite
reluctant to use "real places" (like Holmenkollen or Lahti) because most
of the hills on
on FIS World Cup are K-120! And that would make a _damn boring game_ if
90% of the hills
were that similar. [BUT!] But I'm a man of the people (keep hope
alive!), and I will
certainly look if could find interesting "real" hills for the next
version.
I certainly promise more hills. Oh yeah, the GRAPHICS department is
still LACKING in
talent! So don't come to me complaining when the next version comes out
and the
graphics still SUCK!
Future:
The release date for the next version is still a mystery, since there is
still a lot of work to be done.
I'm currently working on adding Sound Blaster sounds to the next version.
I'm having
a lot of trouble finding (or manufacturing) good samples, so if you have
or know where to
find good ski jumping related sound clips, mail me instantly! A reward
promised :)
And for the thousand time, the graphics, damn it. If someone out there
can draw, contact
me, I have a job for you. It is very possible that the hills in the next
version will be
placed in realistic places, so it would be nice if the graphics were a
bit realistic too.
All help will be rewarded with _at least_ loads and loads of good karma,
and that's about the best thing anybody could wish for, right?
Thanks a lot, feel absolutely free
to mail me with whatever comments or suggestions you may have.

This was up when it was still warm outside.
