what's up?

The Past, Present and Future of SJ3 on February 27th 2001.

past

Again, it's been busy, but it's good that way. The winter season has traditionally been an active time for computer simulated ski jumping, and the beginning of 2001 hasn't been an exception. Registrations have been steadily sent all over the world, our new home at nomasi.com has worked really well, good to see that you've found your way here. A big thanks to nebula.fi for providing a functioning service.

It's been about a month since the last wassup? file and nothing special has happened meanwhile. I've done a little work on version 3.10 and updated the pages every once in a while.

present

The game has gained a lot of popularity in beautiful Poland; we all have a lot to thank Adam Malysz for... Later this week I will be releasing a small update patch for version 3.00 with an updated opponent file, a langbase file with Estonian and better registration info altogether - so nothing too special...

One of the most exciting new prospects is the opening of a SJ3 account in Poland. Brothers Maciej ("Stas") and Mateusz Szczurek approached me about two weeks ago saying that they could help me out by opening a bank account in their country. Super cool. The new registration info can now be found at the Register! Page. It will be translated to Polish in the near future. I hope everything works out fine and people in Poland who like the game do the right thing by registering via the new account. With this new deal the registration fee was lowered to 30 Polish Zlotys, so the price should be reasonable for this kind of software.

Also I just put a _huge_ namefile collection that has the opponent files for all the World Cup's from 1980 to 2001. An enourmous task courtesy of my man, Mad Mario Kolic. Hat's off to him. The namefile package is available at the private box - The Pro Corner.

future

As said, I'll make some small update patch to v3.00 this week and it will be exciting to see how the business takes off in Adamland. Also I'll be working on version 3.10 now that school activity has slowed down for the time being. I'll also be catching up on a bit of your mail, sorry if I've been slow with that. Sending out registrations has been my number one priority. Things are looking good...

If you have any questions or suggestions, don't hesitate to contact me at vkononen@cc.hut.fi.

Thank you very much for your interest in the game!
